If you’re wondering if the latest Warhammer 40K game, Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun, has co-op or multiplayer features, read on.
Retro-styled first-person shooters are trendy again, and Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun fully leans into the joy of shooting demons, up close and in bloody pixel glory. It’s so fun, in fact, that you’re probably going to want to bring a friend along for the ride, or maybe team up with others in some sort of online multiplayer mode. But that begs the question: does Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun have any co-op or multiplayer features?
It is here that we must break the bad news: Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun has no co-op or multiplayer modes. Instead, it’s a completely single-player experience. There’s no way to play with others, either locally or online.
Don’t let that put you off, though. As a single-player experience, Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun is a heck of a lot of fun. As far as retro FPS games go, it’s one of the best in recent years. Don’t believe us? Read more about it in our review (where we scored it a “great” 8/10).
It’s entirely possible to pass the controller around and play Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun with friends locally, by taking it in turns. It’s fun enough to watch the guts and gore on-screen that it’s a rewarding way to play, too. But if it’s a true co-op experience you’re looking for, we’d recommend taking a look at our list of best co-op shooters.
