Shadows of Doubt lets you open doors with lockpicks but there’s another way to deal with them. Here’s how to barge down and break doors.
Yes, you read that right, you can charge down doors in Shadows of Doubt. In some games they’re immovable barriers, permanently blocking your entry. Not here. In this detective game you can happily smash your way past doors.
You’ll need to be in reasonable health and able to run. If you’ve got a broken leg, you’ll need to take care of that first. Once you’re ready, find a door you want to break down and get ready to do some damage.
To break down doors in Shadows of Doubt, charge at the door and while you’re running, hit the right mouse button. You’ll barge into it and while it may take multiple hits you’ll eventually smash your way in. There may be some doors in the city that can’t be barged down but we’ve yet to find them. It’s also possible that, with the game being Early Access, barge-proof doors will be added later.
That’s the good news. The bad news is that, as you might expect, you’ll be making an awful lot of noise. If you try barging down an outer door you can expect nearby pedestrians to wade in. So we’d only recommend it if you’re reasonably sure a room or building is empty. And be prepared to hide in case someone does come snooping.
And that’s how you barge down doors in Shadows of Doubt.
