Learn how to drift in LEGO 2K Drive and you’ll soon be getting sideways and gaining boost.
While LEGO 2K Drive looks like Forza Horizon with a world made out of bricks, its handling model feels like it’s been ripped straight out of a game Mario Kart. You can slow down for corners and try to approach them like a serious racer if you wish, but it’s generally better to get sideways. So, how do you drift in LEGO 2K Drive?
To drift in LEGO 2K Drive, all you need to do is start to turn in the direction you want to go in, then press and hold the drift button, which is the left trigger by default. Your vehicle will then begin to drift, and you can use the accelerator to control your speed. You can even use boost while drifting to allow you to go around corners faster – just be careful it doesn’t send you off the edge of the track. When you want to stop drifting, simply release the left trigger.
If you’d rather drift without having to hold the left trigger, there’s an option in the settings menu that allows you to initiative a drift just by tapping the left trigger instead. Give it a try to see if it suits you. With this method, the drift will end when you straighten your vehicle up.
Using drift not only looks cool, but allows you to take corners at speed. You’ll earn boost while drifting, too, which you can use to get an advantage over your opponents.
