Shadows of Doubt features armed NPCs and will even let you get your hands on weapons. So how do you use guns in Shadows of Doubt?

Well, we’ve got good news and bad news if you want to use guns in Shadows of Doubt. We’ll show you how to use guns but it might not be quite the result you were looking for. Read on to find out.

You can find guns in various places in Shadows of Doubt, but you can’t shoot them. For example, we stumbled across an assault rifle in one penthouse apartment. And to use a gun, all you need to do is pick it up, go to your inventory, and select it.

Except if you do that, you might notice something’s a little off. Specifically, your protagonist is holding the gun by the wrong end. Try as you might, you will never be able to use your gun as anything other than a bludgeon.

Yes, NPCs can you shoot you but the most you can do is smack them in the head with the butt of the gun. Could this change, give this game is in Early Access? It’s unlikely. The developer has stated that enabling the use of guns causes problems with the procedural generation.

So, while you can pick up guns in Shadows of Doubt, you can’t fire them.
