Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered on PS5 takes a great game and makes it even better.
Up to now though, you’ve only been able to acquire Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered on PS5 by purchasing the Ultimate Edition of the Miles Morales standalone expansion. Thankfully, that’s all set to change later this month.
No specific date has been given for the standalone release of Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered on PS5 just yet, but we do know that when it does release it will cost $49.99. For those who already own a version of the original game on PS4, however, there’ll also be an upgrade path available. For just $10 you’ll be able to upgrade any version of Marvel’s Spider-Man to the remastered edition. Though of course, those with a physical copy will only be able to upgrade if they have a disc drive equipped PS5.
The announcement of a standalone release for Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered on PS5 coincides with that of a prequel comic for the upcoming sequel. Made to celebrate Free Comic Book Day on Saturday, 6th May, the prequel comic will set up the events of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, due out later this year. As such, it will feature Peter, Miles and MJ as their lives collide in the face of a new threat.
The comic will be available in the US via participating comic book stores from 6th May, and will also be available to download via the Marvel Unlimited App and Marvel.com. Worldwide, it will be available via the Marvel Unlimited app at a later date.
