How to Rest in Aliens: Dark Descent

Aliens: Dark Descent Rest

Are your Aliens: Dark Descent marines getting stressed? Here’s how to rest.

In Aliens: Dark Descent, your marines get stressed the more aliens they encounter and the worse things go for them. That, in turn, makes them less accurate in combat and more likely to get their heads torn off. The solution to that is to let your marines rest. Here’s how.

If you want to rest in Aliens: Dark Descent you have to find an appropriate room and weld all the doors. You can’t rest in every room but a lot of them can be used to let your marines recharge. If you want into a room and you see a message that says “Weld Doors to Create a Shelter”, you’re in the right place.

You’ll need one repair resource (the spanner icon) for each door you need to weld. Ideally, you should be in a room with two doors at most. Weld the door closed by activating them and selecting ‘weld’.

Once you’ve done that, you’ve created a shelter. Now, the rest option will be available (hold ‘down’ on the d-pad if you’re playing on controller). To leave, activate the door again and remove the weld.

You can create a shelter while you’re being hunted by the aliens – that’s the good news. However, the aliens can still break down the door. As they attack the door, some of the white blocks will disappear. Once the whole bar of blocks has gone, they can just waltz right in.

So, that’s how to rest in Aliens: Dark Descent.
