Jumanji: Wild Adventures, arriving this November, is set to plunge players into a world of multiplayer adventure.
Yes, you can play this top-down action game solo and we’re sure some players will tackle Jumanji: Wild Adventures that way. But with the movie’s four characters, Dr. Smolder Bravestone, Ruby Roundhouse, Franklin “Mouse” Finbar and Professor Shelly Oberon, this is clearly geared towards multiplayer co-op.
The trailer looks suitable frantic, with players punching foes and co-operating to negotiate the “jungle”‘ hazards. Why the quotation marks? Because this is a game connected to a movie about a game. Don’t worry, we’re sure there’ll be enough mayhem to stop you thinking about that.
Jumanji: Wild Adventures is, technically, the sequel to Jumanji: The Video Game, though it takes a different tack. The latter was a third person over-the-shoulder action game, with more than a little shooting. It also wasn’t all that well received. So Outright Games, who are also putting this one out, will no doubt be hoping for a better reception.
Going by the trailer, and by the previous game, this one won’t feature the voices of The Rock, Karen Gillan, Jack Black and Kevin Hart. Though it does very much look as if Outright Games has licensed their images. There’ll be plenty of environments to explore, including icy mountains. A lava level has yet to be confirmed.
Jumanji: Wild Adventures is set for a November 3rd release. It’ll be landing on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC.
