We Can’t Wait For Christmas, Just So We Can Play Lake: Season’s Greetings DLC

Lake: Season's Greetings DLC

We absolutely adored Lake when it released last year: a beautiful and chill game about delivering packages in the quaint town of Providence Oaks. And this holiday, there’s a reason to jump back in with a Christmas-themed DLC – Lake: Season’s Greetings.

Revealed today during the Guerrilla Collective Showcase, Lake: Season’s Greetings is a prequel to the game, taking place a year before the events of Lake. Lake has you playing as Meredith, a woman who returns to her childhood home to cover her father’s job as a delivery driver for two weeks. And its DLC sees you step into her father’s shoes to experience his life in Providence Oaks.

Previously, we visited the town in summer, with green leaves on the trees and the sun (mostly) shining. But Season’s Greetings will allow us to see Providence Oaks hidden underneath a layer of snow, and with Christmas lights twinkling on every house. Going on the trailer alone, it’s going to look beautiful – and we can’t wait to get to drive around it again.

It doesn’t sound like it’s a small DLC either. While it might not be as long as Lake, Season’s Greetings adds five brand new characters, each of them with their own “slice-of-life” storyline. We’ll also meet some familiar faces, find out more about some things that Lake teased, and learn more about Meredith’s relationship with her parents.

The downside? We’ve got to wait until this holiday season to play Lake: Season’s Greetings. But based on how much we loved the original, we’re fairly confident it’s going to be worth the wait.
