Nintendo has some new pastel coloured Joy-cons on the way and we want them now.
We can’t have them now, unfortunately, since they’re not out till the end of June. But we’re absolutely in love with how cool these pastel Joy-Cons are. And yes, we did previously order a gruesome blood-spattered controller. Don’t judge us.
There are a range of colours on offer. Nintendo describe them as Pastel Green, Pastel Yellow, Pastel Purple and Pastel Pink, though we’re going to be calling the green one mint, so take that Shuntaro Furukawa.
The catch is that they come in mismatched pairs so you’ll have to either find someone willing to swap or buy two packs and stick a couple of eBay. The packs are as follows:
- Pastel Pink / Pastel Yellow
- Pastel Purple / Mint
They’re priced at £69.99/$79.99 though they may be available cheaper from Amazon and other third-party sellers. Nintendo’s site shows them as “sold out”, though that’s likely because they aren’t currently taking pre-orders.
You can already buy pastel-coloured Joy-con shells but those are unofficial and installing them will invalidate your Switch warranty. Besides which, we don’t necessarily trust ourselves not to bodge the job.
You’ll be able to order the pastel controllers from June 30th, via Nintendo’s site and, unless these are extremely limited in quantity, other retailers.
