Looking forward to Tekken 8? Yeah, us too. Which is why we’re quickly registering our interest in taking part in a closed network test for the title next month.
The closed network test for Tekken 8 will be available on all formats the game is set to release on. That’s PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. And as it’s a network test, only ranked matches will be available for those who get in. On the plus side, though, a whopping 16 characters will be available, including the likes of Paul, Lars, Kazuya, Asuka and Hwoarang. Five stages are included, too.
One thing to note, though, is that the Tekken 8 closed network test will take place in two stages. Between 21st July 9am BST to 24th July 8am BST, the first closed network test will be available on PS5 only, with a period of downtime between 9pm and midnight on 21st July for maintenance. Then, a second closed network test, open to all formats, will kick off on 28th July at 9am BST, and will run until 31st July 8am BST. Here, the cross-platform matchmaking will really be put to the test. Though again, there’ll be a small maintenance period, this time running from 9am BST on 29th July until midday. Oh, and PS5 players who take part in the first test can also take part in the second.
Those who want to be in with a chance of taking part in the closed network test for Tekken 8 can register their interest right now. All they need to do is click this link, sign into or create a Bandai Namco account, then select their preferred format. Apparently participation is on a first-come, first-served basis, so you better act quick if you want to secure yourself a space. An announcement trailer for the network test can be found below.
