The Lies of P Demo Will Be Sticking Around a Little Longer

Lies of P 2 (1)

The demo of Lies of P, originally set to disappear around the end of Steam Next Fest, isn’t going anywhere.

Lies of P is a soulslike that casts you as Pinocchio – yes, that Pinocchio – as you slaughter your way through a range of rogue puppets. We had a brief hands-on with it earlier this month and playing the time-unlimited demo has only made us more excited for its September release.

And we do mean “time-unlimited”, because not only does the demo feature the first two chapters of the game, three bosses included, you can keep playing it for as long as you want.

You can’t progress to the next part of the city but since enemies respawn you can keep on slashing and levelling up. But your save won’t carry over so even if you spend the next two months grinding, Lies of P won’t be a cakewalk.

The demo was set to disappear this June 27th but with over a million people playing it, developer Round8 Studio and publisher NeoWiz Games have confirmed it’ll remain available for the forseeable future.

If you’ve not tackled the demo we heartily encourage you to do so. Yes, it blatantly borrows Dark Souls/Bloodborne’s mechanics but it oozes style. And the foes it throws at you are tough to beat, it’s rarely full-on frustrating.

The Lies of P demo is available now on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC. And the final game arrives this September 19th.

Weekend Editor // Chris has been gaming since the days of the Acorn Electron, which was allegedly purchased to 'help him with his homework'. You can probably guess how well that went. He’ll tackle most genres – football titles aside – though he has a taste for games that that are post-apocalyptic, horror-oriented or thought provoking in nature.
