DreamWorks All-Star Kart Racing Features Puss in Boots, Shrek and More

Want to race around as everyone’s favourite Ogre? DreamWorks All-Star Kart Racing is bringing Shrek, Puss in Boots and many more to the track.

It’s not the first time that Shrek and company have burnt rubber. 2011’s DreamWorks Super Star Kartz also saw several DreamWorks characters racing around. But we’re hoping that with GameMill developing it, DreamWorks All-Star Kart Racing will actually be good.

Because, let’s face it, there have been more than a few DreamWorks games and they’ve not always been that great. Shrek SuperSlam sounded just the right amount of ridiculous but it was disappointingly mediocre.

So what’s in store for DreamWorks Super Star Kartz purchasers? The good news is that its not free-to-play so we’re hoping it’ll be microtransaction free. Developer GameMill worked on the rather fun Nickelodeon Kart Racers 3 so they’ve got the chops to make this worth playing.

It’ll support four players locally and eight online, which we’re glad to hear. Split-screen isn’t as common as it once was, that’s for sure. There’ll be 20 characters to play as, including Shrek, Po, Tigress, Boss Baby, Puss in Boots, Hiccup, Astrid. The tracks will be taken from various DreamWorks titles too.

Price-wise it’ll cost $39.99 for the base edition, but there’ll be a digital deluxe edition with two extra racers. The characters in question are Master Oogway from Kung Fu Panda and Wolf from Puss In Boots: The Last Wish. As for Shrek, we doubt it’ll be Mike Myers providing his voice, more likely a soundalike.

There’s no release date as yet, nor have DreamWorks released footage of the game in action. But they’ve stated it’s “coming soon” and is coming to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC as a physical and digital release.
