Here’s What’s Coming to PlayStation Plus Essential This August

PlayStation Plus August Monthly Games

Want to chill out on the golf course, albeit virtually? PGA Tour 2K23 is coming to PlayStation Plus this August.

It’s one of the three monthly titles featured in August’s PlayStation Plus Essential line-up, though higher tiers will also be able to claim it. We called PGA Tour 2K21 ‘the best golf game of this generation’ when we reviewed it. And while this new iteration won’t feature any radical changes it should well be worth playing if you’re a golf aficionado.

On top of that, you can also get your hands on Media Molecules’ Dreams, which lets you create your own games and more. It’s even being used to make an animated movie, though we haven’t heard much about that one in a while.

Sadly, live support ends in September, but there are some amazing creations to try out, even if you’re not building your own. It also features, free, Media Molecule’s latest game, Tren, which arrives this August 1st.

The third and final game on offer is Death’s Door, which casts you as a soul-reaping crow. We gave this action RPG an 8 out of 10 when we reviewed it. In particular, we praised its rather excellent boss fights.

All three PlayStation Plus games, Death’s Door, PGA Tour 2K23 and Dreams, will be available from August 1st. That means you’ve got until July 31st to claim last month’s games.

Weekend Editor // Chris has been gaming since the days of the Acorn Electron, which was allegedly purchased to 'help him with his homework'. You can probably guess how well that went. He’ll tackle most genres – football titles aside – though he has a taste for games that that are post-apocalyptic, horror-oriented or thought provoking in nature.
