How to Get a Horse in The Sims 4: Horse Ranch

The Sims 4: Horse Ranch Expansion

The newest Sims 4 expansion pack takes players to the ranch and allows them to raise their own horses. But how do you get a horse in The Sims 4: Horse Ranch?

It goes without saying that you’ll first need to purchase the latest expansion pack: The Sims 4: Horse Ranch, before you can get a horse. And once you’ve purchased and installed it, you might expect that your horse will just be waiting for you. Wrong. Move into one of the expansion’s brand new homes and you’ll find everything you need to raise your horse – a barn, a bed and everything else – but there’s no horse. Hmm.

Don’t worry! Your horse in The Sims 4 is just a phone call away. If you’ve already got a horse bed in your house, click on it and choose “Call ranch animal exchange”. If you need to buy a horse bed, you’ll find it in the ‘Buy’ menu: go to ‘Outdoors’ and then ‘Pets’. Note, you need a bed before you can adopt a horse.

Once you’ve called the ranch animal exchange, choose the ‘Rescue Horse’ option. You’ll then be asked to assign the horse to a bed – if you’ve only gone one bed, it’s an easy choice! Once you’ve assigned a bed to your new horse, you’ll be asked to choose a name for it (or simply accept its default name).

Adopting a horse costs 250 Simoleons. You can adopt multiple horses – but remember that looking after then costs money. You’ll need a bed for each one, and you’ll need enough money to feed them. Horses are for life, not just for Christmas, etc.
