PlayStation Plus’s July Titles Include Undertale, World War Z and More

PlayStation Plus July 2023

Sony has unveiled July’s PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium titles and if you’re a fan of fast-running zombies you’ll be right at home.

If you’re on one of the top two PlayStation Plus tiers, you can get your hands on fifteen new PS4/PS5 titles, with more classic games joining the Premium catalogue. There aren’t any Day 1 releases, because PlayStation Plus tends not to do that. But there are some quality titles featured in PlayStation Plus’s July additions.

We’re still a little miffed that World War Z never got a split-screen mode but it’s a top notch co-op shooter, even if this is isn’t the Aftermath edition. And Undertale? If you’ve never played Undertale, we envy you. That’s not because it’s terrible but rather you’ll get to experience this RPG gem for the first time.

Then there’s Fast & Furious: Spy Racers Rise of SH1FT3R, which we described as “the best Fast & Furious game yet”, awarding it a six out of ten. No, we didn’t get our scores mixed up: that’s a genuine improvement for the Fast & Furious series.

So what else is on offer? Here’s everything joining the Extra catalogue.

  • It Takes Two | PS4, PS5
  • Sniper Elite 5 | PS4, PS5
  • Snowrunner | PS4, PS5
  • World War Z | PS4, PS5
  • The Ascent | PS4, PS5
  • Undertale | PS4
  • SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated | PS4
  • Melty Blood: Type Lumina | PS4
  • Dysmantle | PS4, PS5
  • Circus Electrique | PS4
  • Dynasty Warriors 9 | PS4
  • Samurai Warriors 5 | PS4
  • My Little Pony: A Maretime Bay Adventure | PS4, PS5
  • Fast & Furious: Spy Racers Rise of SH1FT3R | PS4, PS5
  • Monster Jam Steel Titans | PS4

Sometimes, when an Xbox Game Pass game joins PlayStation Plus it departs Game Pass. But that’s not the case here, because Sniper Elite 5 is still available on Xbox Game Pass. And if you’re a PlayStation Plus Premium, you can play these ‘classic’ games:

  • Gravity Crash Portable | PS4, PS5 – originally on PSP
  • Twisted Metal | PS4, PS5 – originally on PS1
  • Twisted Metal 2 | PS4, PS5 – originally on PS1

All these games are available from Tuesday July 18th. There’s a Twisted Metal TV series in the works which is likely why Twisted Metal and Twisted Metal 2 have joined PlayStation Plus. And, don’t forget, if you subscribe to the service you can also claim July’s monthly games.

Weekend Editor // Chris has been gaming since the days of the Acorn Electron, which was allegedly purchased to 'help him with his homework'. You can probably guess how well that went. He’ll tackle most genres – football titles aside – though he has a taste for games that that are post-apocalyptic, horror-oriented or thought provoking in nature.
