New Mortal Kombat 1 Trailer Reveals Three More Additional Playable Characters

Mortal Kombat 1 Ashrah & Havik_8.6.23

A new trailer has been released for Mortal Kombat 1, and it reveals three more characters that will be playable in the upcoming ultra-violent fighting game.

All hailing from their own different realms, Ashrah, Havik and Reptile are the latest to join to join the roster of playable fighters in Mortal Kombat 1. Thanks to the Banished trailer, we get to see a look at each of them in action. The trailer gives us a glimpse of Sareena, too. She’s a new Kameo fighter who you’ll be able to call upon during battle to assist you.

First shown in the trailer is Reptile, also known as Syzoth. A shapeshifter, he can once again turn invisible and transform into a fierce-looking lizard, and he looks like he will be great fun to take control of during battle. We then get to see Ashrah and Havik in action, facing off against each other in a bloody battle. Ashrah is a Netherrealm demon who fights with a Kriss dagger, and surprisingly she’s not evil. Having abandoned her demonic powers, she’s now on a quest for absolution. Havik, on the other hand, who’s from the oppressive realm of Seido, appears to be a real meanie. He also seemingly tears off his own limbs to attack.

So far, then, the roster of playable fighters in Mortal Kombat 1 stands as follows: Liu Kang, Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Raiden, Kung Lao, Kitana, Mileena, Shang Tsung, Johnny Cage, Kenshi, Smoke, Rain, Li Mei, Tanya, Baraka, Geras, Reptile, Ashrah and Havik. That’s pretty impressive, and more are yet to be announced. In addition, the Kombat Pack will add more characters to the game post-launch: Quan Chi, Ermac, and Takeda, as well as guest fighters Peacemaker, Omni-Man, and Homelander.

Mortal Kombat 1 is available to preorder right now. And if you want to pick up the Kombat Pack at the same time, you can preorder either the Premium or Kollector’s Edition. You can check out our hands-on preview of Mortal Kombat 1 right here.
