Xbox Has Quietly Changed its £1/$1 Game Pass Trial Length

If you were banking on signing up to Xbox Game Pass for one month to enjoy Starfield, Microsoft might have just thrown you a curveball.

While you’ve been able to sign up for a month of Game Pass for just £1/$1 for about as long as we can remember, it appears the deal has quietly been changed in the last week or so. In fact, the amount of time you now get for just £1/$1 has effectively been halved; just 14 days instead of a month.

While it’s still a great deal for those who aren’t Game Pass subscribers and want to give it a go, those that were planning to sign up to play a chunky game such as Starfield on the cheap may have to clear their schedules for the first half of September or reassess their plans altogether. In any case, rushing through it is not going to be the ideal way to play.

Game Pass 14 days £1

Ultimately, it’s getting a bit more expensive to be an Xbox gamer in general, what with the price of the Series X console and Game Pass being increased in certain territories recently. On top of that, the rate at which old Live Gold subscriptions et al convert to Game Pass has also changed. Despite it all, though, Game Pass still remains a great deal. And it’ll perhaps work out cheaper for most players to subscribe for a month or two on Xbox or PC to enjoy Starfield than buy an actual copy.
