Alone in the Dark Has Been Delayed Until January

Alone in the Dark

We suspected this might happen last month, and it turns out we were right: the release date of Alone in the Dark has been delayed from October until January 2024.

In a press release circulated today, publisher THQ Nordic stated the reason of the delay was to avoid competing with other games. As we know, October is a full-to-the-brim month, and the press release specifically lists Alan Wake 2 and Spider-Man 2 as two games that THQ doesn’t want Alone in the Dark to be competing against.

It does also state that Alone in the Dark has been delayed to serve a dual purpose: it of course means the development team has a couple more months to work on the game. Or, as the press release puts it, “to meticulously perfect the gaming experience”.

Whether Alone in the Dark will be the perfect gaming experience remains to be seen. And we’ll have to wait a little longer to find out. It will now launch on 16th January 2024. We’re hoping it’s going to be worth the wait, though: everything we’ve seen so far has given us a good feeling.
