GTA 6 Fans Think Rockstar Has Given them a Clue. Again.

GTA Online

Grand Theft Auto fans think that a recent Rockstar social media post contains a hidden GTA 6 clue. Could they be right? Let’s just say it wouldn’t be the first time they’ve clutched at straws.

But given how heavily anticipated the game is, we can understand why the Rockstar post in question might be seen as a GTA 6 clue. It’s a promotional post for GTA Online, advertising the in-game Happy Moon festival.

Rockstar regularly promotes in-game events so that’s not unusual, especially given how much of money-spinner GTA Online is. What’s got people convinced this is a clue is the Vinewood sign, partly obscured by the two characters.

If you look to the left of the image you can see that two characters from the sign spell out.. wait for it.. VI. VI is 6 in Roman numerals, which has to be a reference to GTA 6. And the last two GTA games used Roman numerals, right?

Could this be wishful thinking or is it really a clue? There has also been an unsubstantiated claim that there’s a GTA 6 reveal coming on October 26th.

Our take is that it’s neither. We have sneaking suspicion that someone at Rockstar is trolling GTA fans with this ‘clue’. It’s meaningless, but they know it’s going to be picked upon and they’re sitting in Rockstar HQ, giggling, stuffing their face with popcorn.

It’s been ten years since GTA 5 was released, and the anniversary was earlier this month. That would have been the time to pull out a big GTA 6 reveal, but with a few months left in the year it’s still possible Rockstar are planning on capitalising on the anniversary. We’ll have to wait and see.

Weekend Editor // Chris has been gaming since the days of the Acorn Electron, which was allegedly purchased to 'help him with his homework'. You can probably guess how well that went. He’ll tackle most genres – football titles aside – though he has a taste for games that that are post-apocalyptic, horror-oriented or thought provoking in nature.
