Over-the-top shooter Gungrave G.O.R.E. will be landing on Nintendo Switch as a special ‘Ultimate Enhanced Edition’. Why enhanced? Because the original Gungrave G.O.R.E., itself a sequel to a 2002 PlayStation 2 game, had rather a rough launch.
The game isn’t short on character but when we reviewed it in November of last year, we came away less than impressed. However, Developer Iggymob has patched in a variety of improvements including new moves and the ability to play as character Bunji on every stage.
With the Nintendo Switch release they’re tweaking the game even further, adding new characters and more, hence the Ultimate Enhanced Edition moniker. “As we have carried out improvements and additional development work on more than 100 items, you will be able to play with a new vibe,” explains Iggymob’s Bobby PM.
All of that sounds great if you’ve yet to dive into Gungrave G.O.R.E. However, with these new characters being Nintendo Switch exclusive we can see existing Gungrave G.O.R.E. owners getting a little irked. And if, characters aside, the game has been improved above and beyond the PC and console version, we hope those improvements eventually reach those platforms.
Gungrave G.O.R.E. Ultimate Enhanced Edition doesn’t have a release date as yet, but Iggymob promises to release more details down the line. In the meantime, if you want to experience the game in its current state, it’s available on Xbox Game Pass.
