We’re rather looking forward to Sonic Superstars, the hedgehog with attitude’s latest outing that tries to marry traditional 2D gameplay with snazzy 3D visuals. It’s what we’ve wanted from a Sonic game for a long while. And now that it’s just over a couple of weeks away, SEGA is ramping up its marketing.
For those who want to get the most out of the story of Sonic Superstars, today marks the arrival of the first part of a comic series focused on side character Fang. With a story penned by writer Ian Flynn and illustrated by Evan Stanley, Fang’s Big Break reintroduces Fang and is set before the events of both Sonic Superstars and the recent Trio of Trouble animation.
The first part of Fang’s Big Break consists of four pages, and they’re accessible via the official Sonic the Hedgehog social channels. More parts will be released as we run up to the launch of Sonic Superstars, until the story is finally complete.
If you’re as eager to get your hands on Sonic Superstars as we are, you might be happy to hear that there’s a pre-order incentive: anyone who pre-orders the standard or deluxe edition ahead of launch will receive an exclusive LEGO Eggman character skin. Even if you don’t pre-order, however, you can get a bonus. By signing up to the Sonic Superstars newsletter before 31st January 2024, you can bag yourself a classic skin for Amy Rose.
Sonic Superstars launches 17th October on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Switch and PC.
