We were rather impressed with roguelike brawler Sifu at launch. And since then, it’s just got better and better.
Developer Sloclap has supported its title admirably, delivering meaningful updates that have added things such as difficulty options and modifiers, not only making Sifu more accessible but also more replayable. The biggest addition to Sifu, however, has undoubtedly been the Arenas mode. Here, players are tasked with overcoming a range of combat encounters, and there’s enough to it that it could have essentially been a separate game.
The bad news is that the last update for Sifu has just been pushed live. But on the upside, it offers 15 hours of content for players to make their way through. That’s a pretty good send-off in our books. Once again Arenas mode has been expanded, with six new arenas being added into the mix and 75 challenges to complete. There’s a wealth of new cheats and modifiers, too, such as doppelgangers and zombie-like enemies, as well as a couple of film-inspired outfits.
Aimed at hardcore fans, players need to have completed the previous Arenas mode challenges to undertake these new ones. If you’re not there yet, it’s something to aim for at least. Anyway, the update is live now on PlayStation and Xbox consoles as well as PC, so give it a try if you’re up to the challenge. Sifu fans playing on Switch will have to wait a little while longer, unfortunately. Check out a trailer for the last update below.
