The Suikoden HD Remasters Have Been Delayed into 2024

Suikoden I & II

If, like us, you were really looking forward to jumping into the HD remasters of Suikoden I & II this year, we have bad news: they’ve been delayed into 2024. The delay was announced by the official Suikoden Twitter account, and no indication has been given as to when we can expect them to arrive in 2024. We hope it’s in the first quarter.

The reason for the delay is to apparently make sure that the Suikoden I & II HD Remaster bundle meets the quality performance and gameplay experience that fans deserve. And so, while having to wait a bit longer is a bit disappointing, we’re glad that Konami is not just releasing the remasters in a poor state. We’ve waited a long time already, so what’s another few months or so?

What really stings is that the Suikoden spiritual successor, Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes, has also been delayed from this year into the next. It means that RPG fans have had the rug pulled out from under them on two counts. It does mean that 2024 is shaping up to be another great year for games, though, and that’s something to be happy about. Plus, it’s not as if 2023 isn’t already stacked with quality games to play. The delay just gives us more time to clear our hefty backlogs.
