If you’ve made it as far as Act 3 of Baldur’s Gate, you may have witnessed one character go full-on Disney villain. They’re hammy at the best of times but the final boss fight takes things to the next level, even giving them their own song. And now, one talented artist has taken the final step and Disneyfied them.
I’m talking, of course, about Raphael. This devil approaches you in the form of a man, whisking you away to some other realm. Yes, he has his own lair. And, the moment he opens is mouth, it’s clear this is someone who loves the sound of his own voice. Throw in the aforementioned song, which features Raphael himself sings, and you’ve got a character who could give Hercules’ Hades a run for his money.
With this in mind, a talented Redditor by the name of eijwa has drawn Raphael as a Disney villain and they’ve pretty much nailed it. He looks charming, as the character initially is, but there’s a real undercurrent of menace about him. You can see the art below, you may have to hit ‘show spoilers’ and ‘read more’ to reveal it.
It’s a fantastic piece Disney-style Baldur’s Gate 3 art though it’s left us wondering how other NPCs would look, given the same treatment (hand-drawn that is, not AI art). There’s plenty of BG3 fan art out there but eijaw is the first person we’ve seen go the Disney route. Just… leave the tadpoles out of it. We’re not sure we can handle cutesy brain worms. And if you’re wondering how we’re getting along with Baldur’s Gate 3, here’s our review in progress.
