You Can Now Recap the Story of Alan Wake…. in Fortnite

Alan Wake Remastered 4 (1)

Looking forward to the release of Alan Wake 2 later this month? Yeah, we are too. But what if your memory of the events so far are hazy?

Whether you’ve never played an Alan Wake game before, or have simply forgotten much of the author’s unfortunate journey so far, Epic Games and Remedy has the solution for you. In collaboration with Spiral House and Zen Creative, you can now recap the events of Alan Wake within Fortnite, getting you up to speed in an inventive fashion.

Alan Wake: Flashback is available within Fortnite via Discover. Alternatively, you can enter the Island Code 3426-5561-3374. It’s a novel way to refresh players of the Alan Wake story so far, introducing them to Bright Falls and the events that have lead to the troubled writer losing his wife. With it being within Fortnite it’s absolutely free, too, and available on all formats including PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC – formats that the sequel will be arriving on on 27th October.

Of course, if you’ve never played an Alan Wake game before, the best way to get up to speed would be to play the original, which was remastered for PC and consoles in 2021. You can read our review here.

If you have Fortnite already installed, however, then Alan Wake: Flashback should recap the story rather nicely. If you’re a keen Alan Wake fan, you’ll also be happy to hear that Alan Wake cosmetics are on their way to Fortnite as well. Alan Wake’s outfit, and more, will be added on 26th October. Even better, those who preorder Alan Wake 2 via the Epic Games Store will gain access to Alan Wake’s outfit and messenger bag accessory early.

Elsewhere in Fortnite, a Michael Myers costume is available as part of Fortnitemares – with an emote we simply can’t get out of our heads.
