Grand Theft Auto 6 is Finally – Finally! – Getting a Trailer Next Month

Grand Theft Auto

I feel like we’ve been speculating about Grand Theft Auto 6 for years. What am I saying, we have been speculating about it for years. It’s over a decade since GTA5 released and pretty much since the day it released, we’ve been wondering what the next instalment would hold. Finally, the time is almost here. Rockstar has just announced we’re getting a Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer in December.

In an email circulated to press today, Rockstar Games founder Sam Houser shared a statement to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the company. It reads:

“Thanks to the incredible support of our players worldwide, we have had the opportunity to create games we are truly passionate about — without you, none of this would be possible, and we are so grateful to all of you for sharing this journey with us.

In 1998, Rockstar Games was founded on the idea that video games could come to be as essential to culture as any other form of entertainment, and we hope that we have created games you love in our efforts to be part of that evolution.

We are very excited to let you know that in early December, we will release the first trailer for the next Grand Theft Auto. We look forward to many more years of sharing these experiences with all of you.”

We’ve always known another GTA game is in the works, but finally Rockstar is acknowledging it as a thing. And we finally get to look at it.

It’s important to note the wording here: Houser says “the next Grand Theft Auto”. That doesn’t necessarily mean GTA6. I feel like it’s safe to assume it’ll be numbered six, but it could also have another name. It could also drop numbering altogether, as other franchises have done in recent years.

But still: something to be excited for in December. A nice little Christmas gift from Rockstar. Keep your eyes peeled: we’ll of course share the trailer once it’s out there.
