How to Complete The Flying Metal Nuisance in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Disney Dreamlight Valley Directive Danger

Do you need help completing the quest called ‘The Flying Metal Nuisance’ in Disney Dreamlight Valley? Here’s everything you need to know.

The Flying Metal Nuisance is one of the early story missions in A Rift in Time, Disney Dreamlight Valley’s first expansion pack. You’ll need to have completed The Secrets of Eternity Isle first – once you’re done with that quest, this one will begin automatically. Jafar needs you to recover a hourglass, but it’s been taken by what he calls the Flying Metal Nuisance.

Just who – or what – is the ‘Flying Metal Nuisance’? We don’t know about you, but we were picturing a metal dragon. We couldn’t have been more wrong. It’s actually EVE, Wall-E’s adorable friend.

Finding The Flying Metal Nuisance in Disney Dreamlight Valley

To find EVE on Eternity Isle, head back to where you started, down by the water. Next ot the waterfall is a bridge, but it’s blocked by rocks. Use your pickaxe on the rocks to clear the way (you’ll need to have completed the previous mission, otherwise you won’t be able to use your pickaxe!). EVE is just to the right. Talk to her.

It seems EVE is a little hostile towards you, so getting the hourglass won’t be so easy. After you’ve spoken to EVE, talk to Jafar by using any hologram station. He tells you to search for something that will convince EVE to trust you. That means going in her house. We’re not sure how essentially breaking and entering is a good way to earn someone’s trust, but sure.

EVE’s house is the strange, spaceship-looking contraption just across the bridge, near where she’s stood. Remove the piles of junk on the floor, and inside one of them you’ll find a photo of EVE. Leave the house, and go talk to Jafar again. He tells you to find the location where the photo was taken.

If you need to see the photo again, head into your menu then toggle to ‘Collection’. On the left-hand menu, make sure Eternity Isle is selected, then click into ‘Memories’.

It seems the photo is taken inside a stone dwelling, and the entrance may be obscured by a waterfall. Head to the waterfall furthest left on the beach, just past Scrooge’s shop. Aha: there is a doorway behind it! But it’s blocked by rocks. Use your pickaxe to break them. Once you’re inside, you’ll find a chest to the left of the doorway. Open it up, and you’ll find two costume pieces inside: a Robot Head and Robot Costume. Put them both on. (To change costume press triangle/Y then toggle to ‘Wardrobe’.)

Once you’re in the costume, go and talk to EVE again. She’ll give you a recipe for ‘Best Fish Forever’: she wants you to make it to prove who you are.

How to make Best Fish Forever

You’ll need four ingredients to make Best Fish Forever, and they’re all new ingredients, native to Eternity Isle. Here’s what you need and where to find them:

  • Sea Snail: You can fish for this just off the beach. Look for a blue-coloured ripple.
  • Celery: You’ll need to grow this from a seed. If you don’t already have some in your inventory – we did – you’ll need to rebuilt Goofy’s stall to buy some. Complete the ‘Give me a Sign’ quest first. It takes around five to ten minutes to grow.
  • Cumin: You’ll find this growing around the island. It’s a plant with bushy, white blooms on it.
  • Robot Fish: You’ll need to fish for this too.

When you’ve got everything, cook the Best Fish Forever dish. There’s a fire barbeque on the beach that you can use. Once it’s made, take it to EVE. She’ll finally let you past her, so you can pick up the hourglass.

Head back to the broken bridge (through the Ancient Gate) and use the Hologram Station. And that’s The Flying Metal Nuisance quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley completed. Onto the next!
