Dead Island 2 Infects Steam This April

Dead Island 2

If you’ve been waiting for Dead Island 2 to land on Steam before jumping in for some gory zombie-maiming action, we have good news – it now has a release date. In just over 2 months time, on 22nd April, you’ll be able to travel across LA while fighting zombies with a range of customised weapons.

Of course, Dead Island 2 has been available on consoles and PC via the Epic Games Store since April last year, but what’s another 12 months when we’ve already had to wait for more than a decade for the sequel to finally rise from its slumber to the light of day? In any case, we think it’s worth the wait.

In our review we stated, “This is the ultimate zombie game, dropping you in a setting that’s an absolute joy to explore and spend time in while taking apart zombies in any way you please.”

Since its release, numerous updates have quashed bugs in the game to make it a little better, too. And an expansion has been released, inviting players to explore a mysterious villa in Malibu, facing off against a new horrifying waver of monsters. By the time Dead Island 2 hits Steam, then, it’ll be bigger and better than ever.

For those keen to engage in some zombie-slaughter, whether alone or in co-op, to celebrate the news Dead Island Riptide is available on Steam for free until 15th February. So, make sure you pick it up if you don’t already own it: it might just tide you over until the release of Dead Island 2. A 75% discount on Dead Island: Retro Revenge is also being offered, which might be of interest to fans of old-fashioned arcade games.
