Dead Island 2 is Now Available on Xbox Game Pass

Dead Island 2

If you’re an Xbox Game Pass subscriber and like a bit of zombie action, today is a good day. Why? Because Dead Island 2 has just joined the service as a surprise.

Released April last year, we rather enjoyed fighting our way through the game. In our Dead Island 2 review, we called it “the ultimate zombie game, dropping you in a setting that’s an absolute joy to explore and spend time in while taking apart zombies in any way you please.” We stand by that nearly a year on.

In fact, it’s got even better since launch, with updates quashing some bugs and a new expansion, Haus, adding more zombie-slaying escapades.

Of course, jump into Dead Island 2 via Xbox Game Pass and you’ll need to buy Haus if you want to visit its Malibu villa and engage in its crazy antics, but you can play through the meaty base game first without spending an additional penny. Haus is also included in the game’s expansion pass, which is currently on sale.

In any case, after being in development hell for what seemed like an eternity, Dead Island 2 launches and exceeded our expectations. So, if you have Xbox Game Pass and some spare time to kill, perhaps use that time to kill zombies instead. It’s extremely cathartic, and also a hell of a lot of fun. You can even get your friends involved, too, thanks to its online co-op features.

Dead Island 2 is available on PS4, Ps5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC
