Sometimes, a game lands in our inbox that is completely unknown to us yet it manages to immediately capture our interest. Today, that game is Super Farming Boy, an upcoming casual adventure that combines cosy farming with arcade action.

Its super-colourful trailer won us over. Playing as the titular Super Farming Boy, you’ll need to keep your crops under control, earning chain reactions as you water and harvest them in just the right way. But there’s more than simply keeping your veggies in check: there’s a despotic villain making the rounds, and it seems he’s captured your mum. Clearly that’s not going to fly with this powerful young farmer. And so getting her back, and defeating said villain in the process, is your main goal.

There are various ridiculous upgrades to pick up, too, that look to make your farming endeavours easier, and we’re looking forward to seeing how they pan out.

Watch the trailer below:

We don’t expect any of the mechanics of Super Farming Boy to be too complex: coming to PC, consoles and mobile devices “soon”, it’s being designed to be playable with both controllers and touchscreen. We’re hoping it to be the sort of enjoyable, mindless jaunt that we can while away lazy days with.

We’re digging its cutesy cartoon art style, too, and we can’t wait to see how Super Farming Boy turns out. It’s coming to PlayStation, Xbox, Switch, PC, iOS and Android, with no release date given other than “soon”. More information is available on Super Farming Boy’s Steam Page, where you can also add it to your wishlist.
