Released late last year on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is not only a game that looks absolutely fantastic, but it’s engrossing to play, too. We wouldn’t even consider ourselves Avatar fans but still found ourselves won over by it. Updates post-launch have made it even better, too, with the latest, update 3.2, adding a much-requested 40fps mode to the game on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles.

If you’re currently playing Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora on console, or are planning to do so in the near future, simply make sure the game is updated, and you should be able to access the 40fps mode. What does it do? Well, it strikes a balance between visual fidelity and performance, essentially giving the best of both worlds. There is a catch, though: your TV needs to support 120hz to use 40fps mode.

Of course, there’s more to the 3.2 update for Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora than just a 40fps mode for consoles. On PC, Intel XeSS Super Sampling has been enabled, for example. And on both console and PC, players will find that controller re-mapping no longer resets when restarting the game. Research Station Alpha can now be fast travelled to as well.

In addition to a wealth of bug fixes and other tweaks, it’s very much a worthwhile update to the game.
