SEGA announces Fearless: Year of Shadow

Last year it was ‘Fast. Friends. Forever’, celebrating the special bond that Sonic the Hedgehog and his friends Tails, Knuckles and Amy have with their fans. This year, however, it’s time for Shadow to get some love, with SEGA announcing ‘Fearless: Year of Shadow‘.

What is Shadow to Sonic? A friend? An enemy? We’re not quite sure, so we’ll go with… acquaintance. In any case, it’s set to be a big year for the pair, with Shadow playing a large role in the upcoming Sonic X Shadow Generations and the feature film Sonic the Hedgehog 3. But what else does Fearless: Year of Shadow entail? Well, numerous things, actually.

Firstly, there’s going to be a motorcycle tour. A custom-built Shadow-inspired motorcycle will be shown off at multiple events including MotoGP, so you can go and take a look at that if you wish. Fearless events are also coming to two Sonic mobile games: Sonic Forces and Sonic Dash. Tale part, and you can unlock Shadow variants including Vampire Shadow, Super Shadow, Dragon Hunter Lancelot and more.

And that’s not all: Lego fans can make their own stories involving Sonic and Shadow with the release of new play sets. And soon, fans will be able to relive some of Sonic’s biggest moments on the big screen via the Sonic Symphony World Tour. Accompanied with a rock band and a live symphony orchestra, the world tour will now also feature some of Shadow’s best scores and moments.

Sonic fans are urged to keep their eyes on the official Sonic the Hedgehog website and social channels for further announcements regarding Fearless: Year of Shadow. And as an instant treat, a launch trailer has just been dropped that features original music. Check it out below.
