It’s a good month to be a Game Pass subscriber, with 12 new games coming soon

Xbox Game Pass’ line-up for the next few weeks is looking very good indeed, with 12 new games hitting the service — including no less than four day one releases.

The highlight of Xbox Game Pass in May is undoubtedly Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II, the long-awaited Xbox console exclusive. Landing on 21st May across Xbox Series X/S, PC and cloud, it’s a sequel to Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice, continuing Senua’s brutal journey through a mythical imagining of Viking Iceland.

Also brand new and landing on Game Pass this month are Hauntii, a puzzly adventure that casts you as a ghost; Galacticare, a hospital simulator set in space; and Rolling Hills, a cosy life sim about running a little restaurant.

Our personal highlights landing on Xbox Game Pass this month, though, have to be Chants of Sennaar and Lords of the Fallen. In our Chants of Sennaar review we called it a captivating and gorgeous puzzle game. And Lords of the Fallen is a Soulslike not to be missed, thanks to its “stunning visuals and unique mechanics”.

Elsewhere, subscribers also have Immortals of Aveum, Moving Out 2 and Humanity to look forward to on console. And PC players are getting an intriguing mystery game in Firework, which has an “overwhelmingly positive” review rating on Steam.

Here’s everything coming to Game Pass for the rest of May and the beginning of June:

  • Today – Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons (console, cloud and PC)
  • 15th May – Chants of Sennaar (console, cloud and PC)
  • 16th May – EA Sports NHL 24 (cloud)

Games leaving Xbox Game Pass in May

Of course, new games coming to Xbox Game Pass means older games are leaving. Six games are being removed from Game Pass on 31st May, which are as follows:

  • Chicory: A Colorful Tale
  • Farworld Pioneers
  • JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle
  • Pac-Man Museum Plus
  • Little Witch in the Woods
  • Railway Empire II

Definitely take some time to play Chicory if you haven’t already: in our review, we called this adventure game you colour in a “journey filled with heart and soul”.
