Baldur’s Gate 3 dev Larian is opening a new studio — to work on two “ambitious” RPGs

Today, Larian Studios, the developer behind the hugely successful Baldur’s Gate 3, has announced it’s opening up a new studio in Warsaw, Poland. This will be the seventh studio of Larian, joining its existing teams in Guildford, Dublin, Quebec, Ghent, Barcelona and Kuala Lumpur.

Larian Studios Poland will simply be helping Larian with its existing projects, boosting its already-existing round-the-clock development cycle. “We’re thrilled for the opportunity to collaborate with the abundant talent and expertise of the region, especially considering Poland’s strong reputation as a hub for RPG and gaming enthusiasts,” Ula Jach, Larian’s head of studio says.

The CEO of Larian Studios, Swen Vincke, says, “Our plan for the Polish studio is very simple. Build a team that can work on our two – very ambitious – new RPGs and enjoy the fruits of their labour.”

We don’t know anything about the two RPGs that Larian is working on, but it’s likely they’re very early in development. We do know that the teams won’t be working on Baldur’s Gate 4, but a third Divinity: Original Sin game is possible — as is something completely new.

Larian is currently recruiting for roles in its new Warsaw studio, including an RPG designer, graphics programmer and writer. More information about the new studio, and the jobs that are being hired for, can be found on Larian’s official website.
