Had everything gone to plan for Evil Empire, The Rogue Prince of Persia would have launched into early access tomorrow via Steam for PC. As we reported last week, however, the sudden early access release of Hades II made the developer reassess its plans, postponing the release of The Rogue Prince of Persia until further notice.

Keeping to its word, Evil Empire has now revealed a new release date for The Rogue Prince of Persia, one that gives players plenty of time with Hades II before they switch over to play its game instead. Mark it in your calendar: 27th May is the new release date for Evil Empire’s roguelike take on the Prince of Persia series. That is, the developer jokingly suggests, unless Hollow Knight: Silksong shadow-drops in the next two weeks.

So, all things going well, you should be able to play The Rogue Prince of Persia in two weeks. We certainly can’t wait to give it a try, what with Evil Empire previously working on the excellent Dead Cells. But if Hollow Knight: Silksong does get shadow-dropped – oh boy….

To further whet your whistle, Evil Empire has released a new gameplay trailer for The Rogue Prince of Persia that features its theme tune created by ASADI. Check it out in the X post embedded below.
