Xbox Games Showcase

An Xbox Games Showcase has been announced for 9th June

Microsoft has announced that it will be holding an Xbox Games Showcase at 6pm BST on Sunday 9th June. For all intents and purposes, this is our first date for our diaries of this year’s E3. But, well, E3 is no longer a thing, and so it falls under the umbrella of Summer Game Fest.

Exactly what games Microsoft will be revealing, however, remains to be seen. We can expect games from Activision, Blizzard, Bethesda, Xbox Game Studios and a selection of third-party partners. We can speculate as to what might be shown off — we’d hope to get another look at Fable, for example, and perhaps Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. Maybe there’ll be a glimpse of the upcoming Starfield DLC, or State of Decay 3.

We’d also expect there to be some brand new games shown off — it is a summer showcase after all. Maybe we’ll get to see a new Gears of War game. Or Halo? With just over a month to go, we don’t have too much time to speculate.

Following the main showcase, there’s a REDACTED Direct, focusing on one specific game that Microsoft says is “the next installment of a beloved franchise”. All bets are on it being Call of Duty, however — and judging by the logo, we’d say that’s a pretty safe bet.

So: keep Sunday 9th June at 6pm BST/1pm ET free if you want to see what Microsoft is currently working on. We’ll have more Summer Game Fest announcements soon as they roll out.
