Action RPG fans rejoice: the next mainline entry in the Mana series now has a release date. Square Enix’s Visions of Mana will launch on 29th August, which means it’s just over two months away. A new trailer for the game has also just been released, unveiling some new playable characters and more.

Touted as the first mainline entry in the Mana series in over 15 years (Trials of Mana doesn’t count as it was essentially a remake), we’re looking forward to the release of Visions of Mana. Tasking players with making a pilgrimage to the Tree of Mana in order to rejuvenate the flow of mana power, it’s set to offer a grand adventure in a colourful world, filled with plenty to see and do.

The launch date trailer for Visions of Mana reveals that the game will have five playable characters: Val, Careena, Morley, Palamena and Julei. As you’d expect, each has their own strengths and weaknesses, and you’ll be able to have three characters in your party at any one time as well as quickly switch between them.

Using the power of elements you’ll be able to change their classes, too, allowing you to exploit enemy weaknesses. And in the fact that you’ll sometimes you’ll be assisted in battle by support characters, and combat should be pretty exciting.

Check out the launch date trailer for Visions of Mana below. Pre-orders for the game are live now on PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC, with those pre-ordering the Digital Deluxe receiving 24-hours early access to the game as well as a Mana Superstars Costume Set and Mana BGM Bundle.

A physical Collector’s Edition is available too, which includes a Ramcoh plush, Art of Mana Special Issue artbook, and the Visions of Mana Original Soundtrack, all in a special box.
