You know how it is: we’re approaching the end of July and so Sony has just announced the games that PS Plus users of all levels will be able to add to their libraries in August. Honestly, it’s not the most exciting month, and only one of the three titles available has a PS5-native version available. The good news, however, is that they include one of the best Souslikes on the market.

So, if you haven’t already guessed, Lies of P is the standout title of this month’s PS Plus offerings. Available on PS4 and PS5, Soulslike fans who haven’t already picked it up would be wise to add it to their libraries and check it out. In our Lies of P review we said “As far as Soulslike games go, this might just be the best yet outside of those made by FromSoftware.” It’s only gotten better since, with the game’s latest update adding difficulty levels to make it more accessible.

Other titles on offer for PS Plus users in August include hardcore survival game DayZ, and anime brawler My Hero One’s Justice 2. While we haven’t really covered DayZ, we have reviewed My Hero One’s Justice 2. We weren’t overly impressed by it, stating that it’s “an unimaginative and unadventurous sequel; there’s no ambition here. It packs in a new story and more characters as if that’s enough, but it largely feels unchanged from its predecessor.” Both only released on PS4, but are playable on PS5 thanks to backwards compatibility.

August’s PS Plus titles will be available to download and add to subscribers’ libraries from 5th August, which means there’s still some time left to claim last month’s offerings if you haven’t already done so. To celebrate the 15th anniversary of PlayStation Plus, subscribers can claim an exclusive Avatar bundle from the 5th August as well, featuring titles such as Cyberpunk 2077, Diablo IV, Hogwarts legacy, and more.
