Escape Simulator 2: Dracula’s Castle Courtyard walkthrough

If you like escape rooms, you’re probably going to love Escape Simulator 2. Not only does the game come with 12 core levels split across three very distinct areas, but players can also enjoy user-created content — or try their hand at making their own. We’re focusing on the levels made by developer Pine Studio, however, and here you’ll find a full walkthrough to Escape Simulator 2’s Dracula’s Castle Courtyard level.
While no level in Escape Simulator 2 is particularly long, they can be very tricky if you don’t know what you’re doing. Use our walkthrough below if you get stuck on a particular puzzle, or simply need a nudge in the right direction. Use the quick links below to jump to a particular puzzle, or use your browser’s ‘search’ function to search for a specific key word.
Unlock the carriage
Go to the carriage. Unlock the door using the solution below – you’ll see it if you look through the opposite window and wipe it clean.

Inside, take the bottle and the key. Use the key to open the box at the back of the carriage. Place the bottle in the matching indent.
Mendacium and Veritas lock puzzle
Look at the wall where three demons speak a truth or a lie:
One demon says, “Everyone is telling the truth”.
Another says, “There are two or more liars”.
The final demon says, “I am telling the truth”.

Not all of these statements can be true. In fact, only the middle demon, signified by a mountain symbol, can be telling the truth. The other two are lies.
Go to the left and interact with the lock. It has two words on it: Mendacium and Veritas. ‘Mendacium’ means lie, and ‘Veritas’ means truth (there’s a piece of paper on the noticeboard to tell you this if you don’t already know).
Interact with the lock, and slide it to either truth or lie depending on what symbol is selected. Choose Mendacium for every one except the two mountain symbols to unlock the cabinet. Inside you’ll get a moon key.
Unlock the padlocked box
Unlock the box on the bench below the cabinet you’ve just opened with code HELP. The piece of paper on top gives you a clue.
Take the stake out of the box.

Get digging
Pick up a shovel from near the stone wall with roman numerals on.

Dig near the well and near the locked box and noticeboard. You’ll get a chest and a mechanical key. See the dig locations in the images below:
Examine the key and pull the lever to activate it. Use the mechanical key on the chest. Examine the chest and wind the key to open a compartment. You’ll get a moon key.
Open the box under the noticeboard

Look at the chest near the noticeboard. Note the three symbols on the locks. Examine the wall to the left of the box with symbols that can be interacted with. Slide the contraption over the symbol that matches one of the locks to give you the code.
Unlock the box with 2 4 6. Take the pieces out of the box: one has two wings, and one looks like a half moon.
Take the hammer from under the noticeboard.
The devil and angel statues

Next, go over to the two statues, a devil and an angel.
In the angel, place the two winged piece we’ve just found. Click on the mechanism’s outer pins to rotate it so the border of the circle is complete. Doing this will lift up a compartment and reveal a key. It should look as follows:

In the devil, use the half moon piece and repeat the process. You’ll get small devil and angel statues. It’ll look as follows:

Placing the angel/devil statuettes
Use the key you’ve just found on the green door near the truth/lie statements.
Go inside and place the statues in the right place according to the statement written below the grid. You’ll see the correct locations in the image below:

Take the moon key that appears when you’re done.
Completing the carriage box
Go to the box on the back of the carriage. Place the hammer and the stake inside. Take the mirror from the compartment that opens up.

Solve the well puzzle
Use the mirror to see the area from a top-down perspective. You’ll find four symbols around the environment, each relating to one of four directions on the well. Note what each symbol is.
Back out and look at the well. Interact with each indent around the edge and put the correct symbol in. Starting standing where you’re looking directly at the tree, going clockwise, the symbols should be wand, curly branch, VV and starshine.

Interact with the centre of the well and answer the questions:
- Quid est inmicus ignis? AQUA
- Ubi sunt falco? CAELUM
- Quid est maximum? SOL
- Quid est post vitam? MORS
Take the moon key.
Put the four moon keys in the correct places in the big door. You’ll know they’re right when they are completely in the hole – if they are halfway in, try a different moon key.
That’s it: you’ve completed the level. We hope our walkthrough for Escape Simulator 2: Dracula’s Castle Courtyard has been helpful!
