If you’re planning to play The Casting of Frank Stone, you’re in for a treat. This newest game from Supermassive Games is set in the Dead by Daylight universe, but it doesn’t matter if you haven’t played Dead by Daylight: there are some nice Easter eggs if you’re familiar, but otherwise you get a completely new, unique story to enjoy. This The Casting of Frank Stone walkthrough will take you through every choice to make while also pointing out locations of collectibles.

If you’ve played other games from Supermassive, like Until Dawn and The Dark Pictures Anthology, you’ll have a good idea what to expect here. This is a story-driven game filled with light puzzles and choices to make. The fate of all characters lays in your hand, and the decisions made while playing will determine who lives and who dies. No pressure, then!

We’ve laid out every step of the way in our The Casting of Frank Stone walkthrough, taking any stress out of playing. The choices we made led to every character surviving, so as long as you follow our guide, you’ll come out with everyone alive. We’ve also marked the locations of every collectible Rellik and trinket in the game, too.

This guide was first published in September 2024. It has been refreshed and updated to coincide with the game’s release on Xbox Game Pass.

How to use this walkthrough of The Casting of Frank Stone

We’ve split our The Casting of Frank Stone up into chapters, as dictated by the game. You can jump to a specific chapter using the table of contents above. Within each chapter, we’ve split further based on the character you play as, and we’ve also noted its timeline — The Casting of Frank Stone’s story is split over three separate time periods.

Where you need to make a choice, we’ve highlighted it in a grey box. We’ve emboldened any mention of a Rellik or trinket, including its number (i.e. X/12). Use your in-browser search if you need to jump straight to a Rellik or trinket location.

You’ll also find other useful information in our walkthrough, such as information on each key character and the answers to some common questions which may help you out.

The Casting of Frank Stone full walkthrough

1. The Burning Maw

Sam (1962)

  • You start in control of officer Sam Green. You’ll be in a conversation with Tom Holt, the security guard of the mill.

Concerned – you and the dog are security for the Mill?
Questioning – notice anything suspicious?
Surprised – so nobody’s actually checked the Mill?

  • Move forward towards the fence, and squeeze down a gap on the right. Move around to the barrels and investigate to find a trinket (1/12). Turn back around and leave through the same gap.
  • Turn right and move past the locomotive. Follow the wall around until you see an open window. Climb up the boxes to get into it and jump down at the other side.

  • Once inside the warehouse, move forward through the open gate, then squeeze through a gap. Ahead is a door – move towards it and go through. In the next room, examine a filing cabinet to investigate an employee’s personnel record. At the other side of the room, examine an employee rota.
  • Move a crate out of the way to pass through the next door and find yourself in an outside area again. Move forward and to the right to look at a sign on the wall. Keep moving forward then turn left towards a train.
  • Move down a gap alongside the train and through a door at the bottom.

Here’s the door you need to go through to progress when playing as Sam. Screenshot: GameSpew
  • In the next area, keep moving forward. Don’t go up the stairs, instead loop around the train and follow the path around. Vault over the boxes. A cutscene will take over, where you’ll meet Tom again.
  • Move forward then turn right at the end: you’ll be confronted with Merlin, Tom’s dog. Inspect the remains Merlin has left on the floor.

Dismissive: There’s no proof it does

  • Walk left. Before you go through the door interact with the box on the left: it’s a box to hold all the possible trinkets in. (You’ll find these in almost every location — you don’t have to do anything with them; it’s just a reminder of how many collectibles you’ve found.)
  • Go through the door and make your way down the train yard. Sam will stop to examine a grate. You need to find something to open it.
  • Make your way over to the fence and climb up the boxes to get in.
The Casting of Frank Stone screenshot

  • Pick up the crowbar then climb back out. Head back over to the grate and open it. Complete quick time event (press square repeatedly before time runs out).

Supportive: I need your help here

  • Once down the grate, look at your hat on the floor. Turn around and head down the hallway, the opposite way that the “Furnace Access” sign points. Turn down the passage on your left then through a door on your right. You’ll find trinket 2/12.
  • Go back the way you came, this time following the Furnace Access sign down some stairs. Turn left at the bottom and up another set of stairs. Move forward and interact with a locket on a ledge to your left. Move forward and keep following the Furnace Access signage.
The Casting of Frank Stone screenshot

  • Eventually you’ll go down another set of stairs. At the bottom, go forward then turn right ot jump over some pipes. You’ll find Rellik 1/12. Go back over the pipes and then crawl through a gap in the bottom of the wall.
  • Go straight forward and up some stairs on your left. There’s a metal object for you to examine at the top. Go back down and this time turn left and squeeze through a gap in the wall. Get ready for a quick time event: press X at just the right time to avoid getting injured.
  • Move forward and follow the Furnace Access sign to climb up a ladder.

Choose Ramp.

  • Quick time event: press X at the right time. If you miss, hammer square to pull yourself up.
  • Use R to aim at Frank Stone’s head and press R2. Quick time event: press X at the right time.

  • Quick time event: hammer square, and again to grab your gun.

Madi (2024)

  • You’re now in control of Madison. Look at the photo on the desk. Leave through the door. Walk down the corridor, and through the next door. Look at the photo on the desk again. Keep moving forward until you find yourself in a woodland.
  • Move forward down the path until you reach a gap: squeeze through it. Keep moving forward. Interact with TV and press R2 to turn it on.
  • Madi wakes up on an aeroplane. Watch the cutscenes play out.

Timed choice: Choose Stop.

Curious: What do you do for a living?

2. In the House of Darkness

Madi (2024)

  • Once you’re inside the mansion, head up the stairs and pick up the fragment of music on the table just ahead of you. Make sure you turn it over to examine it.
  • Turn left and go up the next set of stairs. Go through the double doors.
The Casting of Frank Stone screenshot

  • Move left and pick up the business card on the side table. Move forward and read the letter on another table.
  • Interact with the piano at the other side of the room. A secret door opens. Press triangle to chat with Linda, and then go through the secret passage. Go down the stairs and open the door at the bottom.
  • In the next room, look at the floor and inspect the Rellik (2/12) then open the next door. Head forward and open the double doors to your right. Here, you’ll meet Stan.

Casual: Been waiting here a while?

  • When you have control, look at the Gilgamesh book on the stand, and interact with the cabinet door in the wall. Augustine will enter the room and a cutscene will play out.

Reluctant: No that’s okay.

Jaime (1980)

  • Quick time event: bash square.

Defiant: I’d rather die!
Defensive: Chris, I trust Linda’s judgement.
Apologetic: We’re really sorry.
Frustrated: What are we supposed to do with a broken camera?

3. A Curiosity on Main Street

Chris (1980)

Puzzled: What you think he was up to?
Suspicious: Sheriff Green seems to care a lot about this.

Jaime (1980)

Empathetic: Hey, you okay?
Casual: Just 10 bucks
Reluctant: You can borrow my van

Chris (1980)

Choose Curiosity Shop.

  • Once you have control inside the Curiosity Shop, move ahead and examine the rabbit mask on the shelf. Move further left from the front door and examine the letter on a box. Turn to head down the aisle and talk to Jaime. Examine the crow at the end.
The Casting of Frank Stone screenshot
Make sure you explore the Curiosity Shop carefully. Screenshot: GameSpew
  • Move over to the other side of the store (right of the door) and examine the strange object on a table. On the next table, examine a coin.
  • Make your way to the back-right of the store and examine the TV set. Go back and up the next aisle to the right of the counter and examine a reel. Keep moving to find a Rellik (3/12).
  • When you’re done looking around, go talk to Linda stood at the counter.

Appreciative: That seems reasonable.

  • You’re now in the general store. Examine the magazine on the counter to your left. Make your way to the right of the store and go down the last aisle. Half way down the left shelf you’ll find a trinket box. Examine it to find a trinket (3/12).
  • Head to the end of the aisle and interact with the Fear Trap arcade machine. It’s essentially Space Invaders! There’s a trophy/achievement for setting a high score.
  • Go back down the last aisle and interact with the fridge. Open it and grab some milk, then go to the counter and ring the bell.

Probing: What really happened at the mill?

4. These Walls Have Eyes

Linda (2024)

Compassionate: Are you okay?
Commanding: What are you waiting for?
Curious: Tell me about Augustine.

  • When you have control, look at the large portrait above the fireplace, then examine the small tree model on a dresser opposite.
  • Move to go up the stairs.

Probing: What about you, Stan?

  • Go up the stairs and examine the statue that you reach on your left. Keep walking forward and examine the strange metal door, then look at the book about Frank Stone on the table.
  • At the back of the room, examine the cabinet: it’s locked with a key. Talk to Madi.

Nostalgic: There’s something I never told anyone else.
Flippant: If this plot gets any thicker…

5. The Phantom of Cedar Steel

Jaime (1980)

Excited: Right on time!
Uneasy: Stone’s victims were real people.
Approving: You’re right.

  • When you have control to look around the garage, head straight ahead and collect the cassette tape. On the same desk, look at the newspaper copies.
  • Head to the left of the room and examine the book on top of the washing machine. Look at the pin board, then interact with the tape player. Press R1 to use the tape you picked up.
  • When you’re done exploring, talk to Linda.

Concerned: Her obsession with Frank Stone is intense.
Encouraging: It’s pretty rad.

Chris (1980)

  • Move forward to squeeze through the gap in the rock, then climb over the log.

Choose Cross.

Alternative choice: If you’re going for all trinkets, you’ll need to replay this scene and choose Climb instead. After climbing, move slightly ahead and squeeze through a gap in the rocks. A trinket (6/12) is just to your left. You can easily go back and make this choice by using the Cutting Room Floor feature.

  • Move forward through the woods, and chat to your friends as you go. Crouch under a fallen tree and keep moving forward. Head right, then climb up onto a tarmac path. Walk forward, then balance across a ledge.
The Casting of Frank Stone screenshot

  • Keep moving forward. Follow the path around, and walk over a plank. Use the L stick to balance across: there’s a trinket (5/12) at the other side.
  • Now, jump down and crouch under a log before climbing up and over a roof. Jump down at the other side and move forward. You’ll reach a concrete ledge: climb up to enter the mill.
  • Move forward and up the stairs, following the path. Press triangle when prompted to talk to Robert and your friends.
  • Go through a door, then turn left. Squeeze through a gap to find a Rellik (4/12) on the floor. Squeeze back through to the way that you came, and now head straight forward from the door you came through.
  • To your right, climb through a window and open the door at the end.
The Casting of Frank Stone screenshot
Vault over this window when you’re in control of Chris. Screenshot: GameSpew
  • In the next room, move to the right and find a key for the casting shed on a table. Go back the way you came, back through the window and now continue right down the corridor and follow Robert up a staircase.
  • Move past some locomotives and continue following Robert. You’ll eventually reach Sam’s hat. Interact with it.
  • Keep moving forward and jump through a window, and keep following Robert until you reach a ladder. Climb up.

Linda (1980)

Insistent: We still have one more scene.
Relaxed: I don’t care if she tags along.

  • You’re free to explore the area. Look for the grate that Sam went down in the original scene, and you’ll find a crowbar nearby.
The Casting of Frank Stone screenshot
Near the grate, you’ll find a crowbar. Screenshot: GameSpew
  • Pick it up, then cross the yard to find a double door on the other other side. Use the crowbar and go inside. You’ll find a box with a trinket (7/12).
The Casting of Frank Stone screenshot

  • Head up the stairs and follow the walkway around. Look at the electrical box in the centre of the platform: it needs a part.
  • Head down the ramp, and up some steps. Squeeze through a gap and you’ll find a crank handle on the floor.

  • Pick it up, then head back. Go back up the ramp and use the handle on the electrical box. Rotate the handle to move the floating platform. Climb on to find a trinket (8/12).
  • Talk to Chris to continue.

Approving: Jaime, it was perfect.
Casual: Wanna come outside, Bonnie?

Chris (1980)

  • You get to control the camera: shoot the strange green substance with R2.
  • When you’re free to move around, head to the door labelled “Casting Foundry” and open the lock. In the next room, move forward and up the steps to your left. Pull the shelves out by interacting with them then go back down the steps.
  • Move the red box so it’s in front of the yellow sheet and climb up. Follow the walkway around, and squeeze through a gap to move forward.
  • Balance across a beam using L. At the other side, interact with the ladder to release it. Jump across the platforms (that you created by moving the shelves) to find a trinket (4/12).
  • There’s another ladder to release and climb down it. You’re back where you started. To the right of the Casting Foundry door, you’ll find another door, with a hole in the wall. Crawl through it to enter a new space. Inside you’ll find a Rellik (5/12).
  • Head back out and, to the other side of the area, go through the door that leads to the Machine Shop.
The Casting of Frank Stone screenshot

Jaime (1980)

  • After a cutscene, you’re free to explore. At one side of the room you’ll find an office window — look through — and a locked gate controlled by a red button. There’s no power, however. Talk to Robert, who is currently looking at a generator at the other side.

Impatient: I want a few minutes alone with Chris

  • You need two parts to repair the generator. Turn around to find the first: it’s a bolt on a desk underneath “caution” and “danger” signs.
  • From here, head to the other side, where you’ll find a workbench and another part. Again, it’s near a “danger” sign. Head back to the generator and interact with it to repair it. You’ll need to complete some quick time events (press X at the right time).
  • Once the generator is powered up, head over to the gate and press the red button to go through.
The Casting of Frank Stone screenshot
Once you’ve powered up the generator, press the button to open the gate. Screenshot: GameSpew
  • In the next room, move the red box so it’s underneath the window frame with a yellow sheet. Climb up. Keep climbing up in the next area onto the vent and through the gap on the other side. Climb out then jump down the hole in the floor.
  • You’re now in the office. Pick up a key hung up on the wall then open the door.
  • Head out of the door and climb up to the box car. Use the key to unlock the padlock. Cross through and out the other side, and climb up a ladder on the side of the train. Jump onto the walkway and walk around.
  • Talk to Chris and Robert to continue.

Hesitant: You sure you want to do this?

  • Be prepared for a quick time event to catch Robert from falling.
  • You’re now in Frank Stone’s lair. Look at the jar containing a hand, and pick up the notebook on the table. Examine a newspaper on the floor, then the big jar on a shelf.
  • Jump down the hatch to leave the room.

Apprehensive: Is moving that such a good idea?
Appreciative: Ok… sure.

Choose Flee. (Choosing Confront at this point leads to instant death for Jaime.)

6. Beyond the Gate

Madi (2024)

  • Head up the stairs to the next floor. In the corner of the room is a Rellik (6/12). Look at the magazine on the table. Near the window is an invoice on a table and just up from there is a key on another table.
  • Head back down to the middle floor where there’s a locked cabinet in the corner. Use the key on it: there’s a diorama inside. Head down to the ground floor and pick up the strange tree statue, and place it in the diorama.
  • Take the hammer that appears, and interact with the statue with the clock near the entrance to the middle floor.
The Casting of Frank Stone screenshot
Place the hammer on this statue near the top of the stairs. Screenshot: GameSpew
  • Use the object it gives you on the metal gate. Look at the paintings on the wall to your left. They each have a small etching in the bottom corner: House, Tree, Hammer. Interact with the metal gate again, rotating each part of the lock so the first shows a house, the second shows a tree and the third shows a hammer.

Linda (2024)

  • You’re now in Augustine’s reliquary. Head forward and interact with the speaker. Press the button to listen to the audio. Keep moving forward and you’ll find a trinket (9/12) in a box on the floor.
The Casting of Frank Stone screenshot
The trinket box is on the floor in this corner. Screenshot: GameSpew
  • Across, look at Frank’s helmet in the display cabinet. Keep walking to find a coffee table: examine the ‘Fold of Fear’ book on top of it. Look at the demon statue in a display cabinet just behind the table. Talk to Stan.

Respectful: I can offer you my friendship.

  • Interact with an empty desk in order to continue. Open the drawer to find Linda’s original Super8 camcorder.
  • Get ready to perform a quick time event to kick in the right location.

7. A Perilous Place

Linda (1980)

Reluctant: Probably shouldn’t…
Dismissive: None of that.

  • Follow the platform around and walk down the ramp. Head towards the door and you’ll meet up with Jaime.
  • After the cutscene, head left and go through the Machine Shop door. Once you’ve retrieved the camera, head right and go back through the door, heading the way you came.
  • Use your camera to point at the entity and hold down R2 to film.
  • Make your way around the room until find a scissor lift. Interact with it: it needs power.
  • Follow the yellow cable from it to a generator. Interact with it to try and fix it. You’ll need to lift your camera to face off against the entity again.
  • You need to find a part for the generator. Back near the scissor life you’ll find a box on some crates with a machine part in it. Pick it up and head back to the generator.
The Casting of Frank Stone screenshot
You’ll find the generator part in this box. Screenshot: GameSpew
  • You’ll need to complete a quick time event to fix the generator (pressing X at the right time). You can now head back to the scissor lift and operate it. While it’s moving down you’ll need to face off against the entity again, three times. Keep your camera raised and be prepared to shoot.
  • Once it’s lowered climb onto the lift using the boxes. Pull its handle to move upwards. Move along the platform then jump across onto the train. Walk along, then jump back to move through the door to the Rear Yard.
  • Before going down the stairs, cross a beam to find a trinket (10/12).
The Casting of Frank Stone screenshot

  • Jump down to reach the ground. Go through the door to the right of the stairs to continue.

8. Mystery Manor

Linda (2024)

Nostalgic: It’s been a long time.
Concerned: You’re not making a lot of sense.
Hesitant: We haven’t committed to anything yet.

Madi (2024)

  • Head down the corridor, following Stan. Interact with the TV set. Turn it off.
  • Turn around: the corridor has changed. Follow it around and interact with the door. Head left down the corridor and there’s now a set of stairs heading down.
  • Before you go down, look at the occult altar to your left. Head down the stairs, and interact with the doors at the end.
  • In the strange room, examine the machine straight in front. Rotate each wheel so the lights line up with each other. You can’t rotate the outer ring, so use that as a guide.
  • Once you’re done, move around the central platform: there are three offshoots with levers to pull. One of them is lit up – go and pull it. Return to the machine, and rotate the lights again, which will light up another lever. Complete this three times to deactivate the spinning rings in the centre of the room.
  • Move into the centre of the room and interact with the switch that has just appeared.

Linda (2024)

Somber: She promised me freedom.

  • Make your way around the corridors, until Sam takes a funny turn

Select pouch. You’ll have to complete a quick-time event to grab it.
Select put back.

Supportive: Help Sam find Augustine.

  • Examine the door straight in front of you. You’ll find yourself in an archive. Make sure you go up and down each aisle — there are some things to look at on the shelves here: Murder Mine t-shirts, a fake prop arm, a Rellik (7/12), a newspaper, and, right at the bottom, a lamp.
  • When you’re done exploring, interact with the desk.

9. Descent of the Damned

Linda (1980)

  • Squeeze through a gap in the wall to find yourself in a toilet block. Go through a door to your right and then, to your right again, crawl under some fallen lockers. Examine a filing cabinet to find a key in one of the drawers.
  • Go back through the crawl space and, to your right, squeeze through a gap in the wall. To your left is a locker you can interact with. Open the lock with the key you’ve just found and pick up a letter. Keep moving forward and vault over a horizontal locker. Go through the double doors at the other side.
  • In the next room, look at the boiler gauge just ahead of you: it needs a part.
The Casting of Frank Stone screenshot
There are two of these boiler gauges, and they’re missing a part. Screenshot: GameSpew
  • Go back to the room you’ve just come from and find a valve wheel in a locker near where you found the letter. Go back to the bathroom and there’s another one in a shower cubicle.
  • Once you’ve got both parts, go back to the boiler room and place the wheels on both gauges and turn them both into the red. This stops the flow from the pipes, allowing you to pass through the door on your right.
  • Go through the door and down the stairs. At the bottom, open a door and move right. Turn right again, through a wire fence, to find a dog collar.
  • Turn around and follow the corridor until you see a half-shuttered door. Climb under it.
The Casting of Frank Stone screenshot
Head under this door shutter. Screenshot: GameSpew
  • Climb over a brick wall then crawl under a small archway which leads to some pipes. Keep crawling until you reach the other side.
  • Move forward then, at a junction, turn left. Open the second door you pass and, again, crawl through a tight space.
  • In the room you come out of, examine the artwork on the wall and the diary on the desk. Interact with the piece of metal blocking a doorway at the end of the room and go in.
  • Interact with the letter on the desk to your right. Straight ahead, there’s a Rellik (8/12) on the floor. Go back out and open the door next to the desk. You’re now back in the corridor, so turn the corner and go up the ladder.

10. In the House of Madness

Chris (2024)

Confused: Your mom…?
Hopeful: I gotta try.

  • You’ll need to perform a quick time event (bash square) to find a pole to operate a lever.

11. All Paths Must Cross

Chris (1980)

  • Look at the hand on the floor just to the right of you. Go through the door marked with an ‘Exit’ sign, then move to your right to leave through the main double doors.
The Casting of Frank Stone screenshot
Head to this door marked with an ‘Exit’ sign as Chris. Screenshot: GameSpew

Insistent: It took me some other place.

  • You’ll get a quick time event where you can punch Jaime. Let it time out or purposefully miss.

12. Closing the Noose

Madi (2024)

  • Walk to the end of the corridor and open a single door. Examine the necklace on the bedside cabinet.

Self-assured: Finders, keepers.

  • Examine a book on a cabinet and flip through its pages. A key will fall out onto the floor – pick it up. Interact with the trinket box at the other side of the room, and use the key on it.
  • A secret door will open up. Go down the stairs of the passageway and open the door at the bottom.
  • Head left and interact with the tape recorder. Keep moving down the corridor to find a Rellik (9/12) on a side unit. Keep going, and there’s a trinket (11/12) to collect.
  • Turn back around and go the way you came. At the other end of the corridor you’ll find some double doors: open them to progress forward.

Supportive: I think Sam might be right.
Empathetic: How could you know?

13. Murder Mill

Linda (1980)

  • Use your camera to shoot the entity.

Linda (2024)

Comforting: Don’t look, Madi.

Sam (1980)

  • Head down the walkway and down the ramp. Look up at the body when prompted. Once down the storm drain, move right until you find a camera on the floor. Pick it up. Squeeze through the gap in the wall and move right.
  • Head up some stairs, then move left. When you reach a corridor on your right, take it. Climb through the window ahead then keep following the corridor.
  • When your camera starts glowing green, get prepared to use it to shoot the entity.
  • Keep moving down the corridor, following it round. Head down the the first steps you come to. Squeeze through the gap in the wall and you’ll find Chris.
  • Go back the way you came, following the corridor back around. This time, climb through the first window you reach on your left. Walk down the new corridor to find a Rellik (10/12) to your right. Keep moving down the corridor and you’ll eventually find Jaime.
  • Use your camera again to shoot the entity. Start shooting right away, before it’s even fully formed to have enough time to save Jaime.
  • Go back the way you came, following Linda’s cries. Go down some stairs and find another window to climb through, this time blood-spattered. Climb through it, and go through the door at the other end.
The Casting of Frank Stone screenshot

  • Prepare to face off against the entity again with your camera.

Timed choice: Choose Back away.

  • Stan will die, but the playable characters will survive. For now, at least.

Linda (2024)

  • Make your way down the corridor. There’s a trinket just around the corner. Go back and head through the door to progress forward. There’s a generator, but it needs two parts.
  • Move over to the desk. Pick up the security pass and one of the generator parts. Just behind is a cog on a box. Pick that up too.
  • Go back over to the generator and interact with it. You’ll need to complete a quick time event to repair it.

Timed choice: Choose Help Madi.

Madi (2024)

  • Now in the woods, head to the Prescriptions counter. Look at the reel on the counter. Move forward through the woods to the next counter, and once again look at it.
  • Keep moving forward and you’ll find another, and another. After the last one, you’ll reach a crossroads in the woods. Go right, and interact with the door. There’s a Rellik (11/12) on the ground.
  • Go back the way you came. On a log to your right is a bloody ring: investigate it. This time, take the left and squeeze through a gap in the rock.
  • Keep watching until after the credits (you can skip) to see a final cutscene and reveal the last Rellick (12/12).

The Casting of Frank Stone walkthrough: Common questions

Is it possible to save everyone in The Casting of Frank Stone?

(Spoiler alert) We don’t think it’s possible to save everyone, no. You can, of course, save all the playable characters: there’s a trophy for doing so, which you’ll get if you follow our The Casting of Frank Stone walkthrough. But we think the fate of the non-playable characters – i.e. Bonnie and Stan – is sealed. If you look at the Cutting Room for chapter 14, it seems every choice leads to a death. Stan’s the most dispensable, so he had to go.

How to save your game in The Casting of Frank Stone

There’s no “save game” option to be found in the menus of The Casting of Frank Stone, unfortunately. Thankfully, the game’s autosave system seems fairly robust: if you quit, it’ll start you very close to the area you’re in, so you don’t have to worry about losing much progress. We’d recommend you quit the game just as a new scene is beginning or just as the lead character has changed, however. Doing that will ensure everything up to that point is saved.

Can everyone die in The Casting of Frank Stone?

Absolutely, yes, and there’s a trophy for having everyone die in The Casting of Frank Stone. Many of these deaths will involve failing quick time events, but some will be dependent on making particular choices while playing.

How long does it take to beat The Casting of Frank Stone?

We were pleasantly surprised by how long The Casting of Frank Stone is. Your own time will vary a little depending on how thoroughly you explore each area, but expect to spend roughly six to eight hours with it. Of course, there’s plenty of replayability too, particularly if you want to see different endings for each character and unlock all possible paths in the Cutting Room.

Can you play as Frank Stone?

Sorry to burst your bubble: despite his name being right there in the title of The Casting of Frank Stone, no, you don’t get to play as him at any point during the game. While you might get to play as the killer in Dead by Daylight, here it’s all about the survivors.

Do you need to have played Dead by Daylight to enjoy The Casting of Frank Stone?

No. While The Casting of Frank Stone is set in the universe of Dead by Daylight, you don’t need to have played it to enjoy it. It’s its own, original story in fact. If you are familiar with Dead by Daylight, though, you’ll enjoy a number of Easter eggs, including some of the collectibles you can find — and a very clever nod right at the end of the game.

Does The Casting of Frank Stone have local co-op?

Yes: like other games from Supermassive, The Casting of Frank Stone can be played cooperatively by passing a controller around. Each player will be assigned one or more of the characters to take control of and effectively be in charge of their particular fate.
