How to complete A Guide to Better Castle Keeping in Disney Dreamlight Valley
This guide will tell you everything you need to know about completing the A Guide to Better Castle Keeping quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley. This is the last part of the questline to unlock Lumiere and Cogsworth, and it will unlock once you’ve finished Belle, Book and Candle.
To start A Guide to Better Castle Keeping in Disney Dreamlight Valley, you need to be in the Beauty and the Beast realm. You can either fast travel from your main menu, or head to the castle to travel through the warp point. Once there, talk to Cogsworth – he’ll be near the entrance.
1. Find fine cutlery
After you’ve talked to Cogsworth, follow him to the garden. From here, go down the steps to the cellar door. You can’t go inside, but if you interact with it, you’ll be able to add fine cutlery to your inventory.
Go back to the entrance near the piano and use the fine cutlery on the tables in that area.
2. Find food and prepare a charcuterie board
Talk to Lumiere. You now need to find several ingredients dotted around the castle:
- Oyster – in a storage crate in the hidden area off the main room
- Creepy Crawly Crab – in a storage crate in the hidden area off the main room
- Chilling Cucumber – on a table to the right of the door in the main room
- Booyere Cheese – on a desk to the left of the fireplace in the main room
- Screamed Butter – on a table in front of the fireplace in the main room
Use the stove in the hidden storage area to prepare the charcuterie board. Go place it on the table near the piano. When you’re done, talk to Cogsworth.Â
3. Make rose garlands
You’ll need to gather items from the garden to make rose garlands. You need 8x castle softwood, 3x rainbow rose bouquet and 3x castle detritus. Look out for sacks around the maze, and smash any statues that still remain.
Use the workbench at the edge of the garden to craft the rose garlands.
Return to the entrance near the piano and place the garlands in the arches.
Talk to Cogsworth when you’re done.
4. Bring Cogsworth and Lumiere back to Dreamlight Valley
Pull out your camera and take a photo of you and Cogsworth. Then listen to Cogsworth and Lumiere chatting.
Talk to Cogsworth, then return to Dreamlight Valley with Lumiere. Take a photo together and talk to him to welcome him to the valley.
Go to the Beast’s Castle and talk to the Beast.
Return to the Beauty and the Beast realm. Talk to Cogsworth.
Return to Dreamlight Valley. Take a photo with Cogsworth, then talk to him.
Finally, go to Beast’s Castle one more time and talk to Cogsworth again to finish the quest.
That’s it: you’ve completed A Guide to Better Castle Keeping in Disney Dreamlight Valley, and you’ve done everything required to bring Lumiere and Cogsworth back to your valley.
