The PS Plus monthly games for January have been revealed
Happy New Year! Let’s hope it’s a good one. Sony’s kicking things off with a decent PlayStation Plus monthly games offering at least. There are only three games on offer this January versus the bumper selection of games put forward in December, but whether you love racing through city streets, adventuring with others, or platforming your way through fantastical environments, there’s something for you.
Perhaps the highlight of January’s PlayStation Plus monthly games offerings is Need for Speed Unbound. This latest entry in the Need for Speed series may be some years old now, but it still looks and plays great, with a solid campaign mode to play through. It has a selection of multiplayer modes, too, of course, and thanks to many updates since launch it’s packed with things to see and do. If you’re into arcade racers, you really should give this a download. Just bear in mind it’s only available on PS5.
Thankfully, the next game, Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed, is available on both PS4 and PS5. This remaster of the platforming classic breathes new life into the title with notably improved visuals and gameplay mechanics. Whether you missed it the first time around or are a fan who wants to relive the experience, this is very much worth jumping into. Playing as Mickey you’ll explore levels inspired by classic animated films and shorts while using paint and paint thinner to alter the environments around you to achieve your goals.
The final game on offer to PS Plus users this January is another that’s available on both PS4 and PS5: Core Keeper. We really love this mining sandbox adventure game; it’s something you can really get lost in. Even better, it doesn’t have to be played alone, with support for up to eight players working alongside each other. There’s more to it than just mining, too, with players also able to engage in a bit of fishing, gardening, combat, exploration and more.
All of these games will be available for PlayStation Plus users to download starting from tomorrow, 6th January, and will be available until 2nd February. That means you’ve still got a little bit of time to add last month’s offerings to your library if you haven’t already done so, which include the fantastic LEGO Horizon Adventures and Killing Floor 3.
