The Sims 4’s next expansion is Royalty & Legacy, according to a recent ratings leak

Can’t get enough of The Sims 4? Then you’ll be happy to hear that there’s a new expansion on the way, The Sims 4: Royalty & Legacy. Granted, it hasn’t officially been revealed by EA, but it’s popped up on South Korea’s game rating board’s site, and it sounds like it’ll give this long-running life-sim a new twist.

As spotted by Insider Gaming, The Sims 4: Royalty & Legacy has been rated by the South Korean Game Rating & Administration Committee as suitable for players aged 15 or over. According to the page, via Google Translate, “The 21st expansion pack for The Sims 4 allows players to become nobles and build a long-lasting dynasty.”

It sounds a little like spin-off The Sims Medieval, though there’s no indication you’ll be thrust back through time. The Sims 4 already has a Castle Estate Kit so there’s nothing to stop players showing off their ‘nobility’ by converting their suburban domiciles into vast fortresses.

But authority? That’s a different matter altogether. We’re certainly curious to see if your ‘nobility’ will allow you to exert influence, positive or negative, on each neighbourhood. Not that we plan on crushing lesser Sims beneath our feet. Honest.

If The Sims 4: Royalty & Legacy is the game-changer it sounds like, we’d expect it to cost in the region of £34.99/$39.99. The base game has been free for quite some time and, instead, it’s the various expansion and content packs that make EA money.

If you’ve not played The Sims 4, it’s currently available on Xbox, PlayStation and PC. Many of the expansion packs are currently heavily discounted, so snap them up while you can.
