Available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC, Crisol: Theater of Idols is a bit of a bargain priced at just £14.99/$17.99. This first-person survival horror game isn’t short, either, with a campaign that will take most players around 10-15 hours to complete on their first playthrough. For that reason, you’re not likely to complete it in one sitting, and so you’ll perhaps be wanting to know how you save your game.

Like most games these days, Crisol: Theater of Idols employs an autosave system, at least on its Novice and Penitent difficulty levels, anyway. This means that on these difficulty levels you don’t need to worry about saving your progress for the most part. Just look out for a small gear-like icon appearing on the screen which indicates that the game has just autosaved.

You can also save your game manually on these difficulty levels, though, allowing you to record your progress at key parts of the game and then return to them if you wish, which can come in handy for a variety of reasons. Also, it’s simply not a good idea to rely on the game’s autosave system alone. And if you’re playing on the game’s hardest difficulty, Martyr, you need to rely on manual saves as the autosave system is disabled.

To manually save your progress in Crisol: Theater of Idols, you need to find a crystal ball. Think of these like typewriters in the Resident Evil series, only you don’t need anything to use them. Interact with a crystal ball, which are always purple in colour, and you’ll be taken to a save screen. Here you can choose one of numerous slots to save to, or overwrite a previous save. You’ll always find a crystal ball on a table near the vendor when you encounter them in the various areas you visit in Crisol: Theater of Idols, and there’s the odd one on its own in some places, too.
