Broken Sword: The Smoking Mirror Reforged is getting a physical release thanks to Red Art Games

If you’re as excited about Broken Sword: The Smoking Mirror Reforged as we are, you’ll be thrilled to know that a physical release has just been announced. You don’t need to stump up for the expensive Kickstarter special edition to get your hands on a disc thanks to Red Art Games, who will be releasing both a standard and a deluxe edition of the game.
Set to release on 19th February 2027 and available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and Switch, Broken Sword: The Smoking Mirror Reforged is the second entry in the much-loved Broken Sword series. This time, you’ll follow George and Nico as they travel across the world to investigate an ancient artifact. You’ll find yourself in the middle of an ancient Mayan mystery filled with kidnap, rituals, drug barons and a whole lot more. Nothing is straightforward when it comes to George and Nico, after all.
Opt for the standard edition of the game and you’ll get the disc and a printed physical manual – a nice touch. But if you’d rather go for the deluxe edition, limited to 500 PEGI-rated copies, you’ll also get an exclusive sleeve featuring original game art, a soundtrack CD and a keyring of Nico.
While the standard edition will be available from most major retailers, the deluxe edition will be exclusive to the Red Art Games online store, with pre-orders open right now. Swipe through the images below to take a peek at each version.
Broken Sword: The Smoking Mirror Reforged is a fully remastered version of the 1997 classic, featuring 4K visuals, enhanced audio and bonus content. An in-game feature allows you to switch between updated graphics and the original version, and players can opt to play either a traditional mode or a new ‘story mode’, which offers more hints for the game’s trademark tricky puzzles.
