Ball x Pit is getting a huge paid expansion this November

If you don’t fancy playing Grand Theft Auto 6 this November, we’ve got something else to tempt you with. Developer Kenny Sun and Friends has just announced that Ball x Pit is getting a “transformative” DLC. Called Risen Ballbylon, it adds new battlefields, enemies, characters, passives and a whole lot more.
It was only a month ago that we wrote about The Naturalist Update, the last free update to hit Ball x Pit. That provided plenty of reason to return to the game alone, with new characters, new balls and more. But in less than two months, the game will be revitalised all over again, giving us even more reason to jump back in.
Costing just $6.99, Risen Ballbylon is the biggest expansion to Ball x Pit so far by a long shot. Publisher Devolver Digital says its new mechanics will “test even the most hardened veterans of the pit”, and so it’s safe to say we’re totally sold.
The DLC is only accessible once you’ve completed the base game, so it really is for stalwarts only. There’s a good reason: while you typically descend through depths of the pit, in this expansion you’ll be going up. Each new level you ascend to is a layer of the former city, with your ultimate goal being to reach Risen Ballbylon, floating up in the sky.
Here’s what you can expect from Risen Ballbylon when it launches on 12th November:
- Four new battlefields
- Over 40 new enemies
- 45 new passives, including Lucky Coin, Eldritch Gauntlet, Vampire’s Kiss, Volatile Explosive and Relentless Whip
- 8 new characters, including the Sentinel, The Stonewaller and The Right Hand Man
- 24 new balls, including the Beast, the Kaiju, the Misfortune and the Hedgehog
- 20 new buildings, including Floating Fortress, Soup Kitchen, Circus Tent and Fission Chamber
- A new resource – Crystals
Sound good? You’ll be able to play Risen Ballbylon on PC, consoles and mobile from 12th November. Watch the trailer below.
