After launching on PC earlier this year, humorous point-and-click adventure Earth Must Die is making its way to Switch and PS5 next week. From British indie studio Size Five Games, who previously worked on The Swindle and The Lair of the Clockwork God, we absolutely loved Earth Must Die when we played it back in January, and we’re thrilled more people will get to enjoy it.

In our Earth Must Die review, we called it “hilarious and unabashedly silly”, stating it to be one of the funniest point-and-click games we’ve had the pleasure to play. It puts you in the shoes of Vvalak Lizardtongue, an alien overlord who has just gained control of the Tyrythian Empire. But being an overlord isn’t as great as he first thought, and when an opposing alien race invades, he absolutely cannot abide living under their tyrannical rule. And so, your time with Earth Must Die is largely spent trying to reclaim your former glory. Often with hilarious results.

If tongue-in-cheek science fiction is your bag, then, you’re going to love this – particularly if you dig British humour. Not only does Earth Must Die look fabulous, but it’s brought to life with a very excellent team of voice actors including Alex Horne, Ben Starr, Tamsin Grieg, Mike Wozniak and Matthew Holness. Those names alone are enough to sell you on this wonderful little experience, surely?

So, if you fancy jumping into Earth Must Die, it launches on PS5 and Nintendo Switch on 9th September. Sorry, Xbox gamers – you’ll have to keep waiting on this one.
