Lego officially unveils its Gift With Purchase Astro Bot set
Are you looking forward to the upcoming Lego Sony PlayStation? Lego has revealed another incentive to pick up this set; an awesome Astro Bot model, all but confirming it’ll be a free gift for those who purchase the main PlayStation set.
The Lego Astro Bot set is rated for builders aged 18+ and is made up of 276 pieces. It’s poseable, perched on a central rod, and has a choice of open or half-closed eyes. It measures 8 in. (20 cm) by 4.5 in. (12 cm) by 2.5 in. (7 cm), stand included (don’t count on being able to pose it without the stand).
“This brick-built gaming figure makes an exciting extra gift for players of the Astro Bot series, fans of PlayStation games or merch collectors ages 18 years and up,” says Lego. Astro Bot has replaced Sack Boy as PlayStation’s unofficial mascot, finally getting his own game in 2024.
The company hasn’t absolutely confirmed Astro Bot will be a PlayStation Gift With Purchase but it seems extremely likely. Lego frequently offers smaller sets free when you spend a certain amount, but they’ve also paired items with other sets, eg offering a Lego Shackleton’s Lifeboat set with the Lego Icons The Endurance set.
The Lego PlayStation set is available from October 1st for Lego Insiders and from October 4th for everyone else. If you do want to get your hands on this Lego Astro Bot set we recommend you sign up for the Lego Insiders program (it’s free) as we’ve seen GWP sets sell out before Joe Public can get their hands on them.
