Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is out now on Nintendo Switch 2

After making its debut on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight has launched on Nintendo Switch 2. And, as a bonus for waiting four months, it includes a new ‘Absolute’ difficulty mode, a nod to DC Comics’ new, chonkier Batman.
We’re happy Switch 2 owners can finally get their hands on Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight. It essentially blends the blocky shenanigans of previous Lego Batman games with the open world of Batman: Arkham Knight.
As in Batman: Arkham Knight, you can traverse the city however you see fit. You can swing across the rooftops, leap into the Batmobile and blast the through streets or just wander about on foot, even though that is a bit Batman ’66. It’s as if Lego released a massive Lego Batman Gotham City set.
You can watch Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight’s launch trailer above. What’s particularly cool about the game, open-world shenanigans aside, is that it folds in multiple Batman eras. For example, Jack Nicholson’s Joker and Heath Ledger’s Joker both make an appearance.
Speaking of the Joker, whatever platform you’re on you can pick up the Legacy of the Dark Knight Mayhem Collection DLC, as part of the Deluxe Edition or Deluxe Edition Upgrade. This lets you play as Joker and Harley Quinn, with multiple skins for each. On the free content front, the latest patch has added the Absolute difficulty level to all platforms.

The one catch, if you’re a Nintendo Switch 2 owner, is that the Switch 2 version is a Game Key Card (according to Amazon’s Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight listing). You’ll need 30GB of free space to download the game, a sizeable chunk of the Switch 2’s 256GB storage.
