The PlayStation Plus Monthly Games for October have been revealed
It’s a solid, if not particularly exciting, line-up of Monthly Games from PlayStation Plus in October. As usual, three games are up for grabs, all coming from different genres. If you don’t already own any of them, we daresay you’ll get some enjoyment from them, but perhaps temper your expectations somewhat.
The three games that you can claim as a PS Plus member from 6th October are as follows:
- F1 25
- Hunt: Showdown 1896
- Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2
If you’re still only playing on PS4, only Earth Defense Force is playable – the two other games are PS5 only.
We loved F1 25 when it released last year, and with a 2026 season pack available, you can bring the game up to date, too. In our review, we said, “…This is a treat for F1 fans. It’ll particularly please those who have been wanting more strategy when it comes to My Team, where they’ll find themselves more in control than ever. In any case, whether you’re a casual or ardent F1 fan, EA Sports F1 25 has something substantial to offer.”
Next up is Hunt: Showdown 1896, an extraction shooter that you can play either solo or with friends. Its period setting makes it interesting as you fight against dangerous monsters and other hunters out to get you.
Finally, the silliest game of the trio is Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2. A light-hearted voxel design makes the Earth Defense Force series more accessible than ever, letting you fight against hordes of giant bugs, aliens and other threats to mankind. In our review, we said: “Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 is easily one of the best Earth Defense Force games available. And while it’s a sequel, it’s very welcoming to newcomers. So, whether you’re a fan of the series or are looking for a good way to get into it, keep World Brothers 2 in mind. Especially so if you want a more colourful and polished take on the formula, or if you’re planning on playing it in co-op with your kids.”
You’ve still got just under a week to claim September’s PS Plus Monthly games if you haven’t yet: make sure you add Sniper Elite Resistance, MLB The Show, Wobbly Life and Chained Echoes to your library while you still can.
